Bodies of couple, another woman recovered in Mymensingh

  • They worked in local factories and lived in rented accommodations
  • Bodies are sent to morgue for autopsy

Police recovered the bodies of three individuals, including a husband and wife, from Bhaluka in Mymensingh on Wednesday night.

The bodies were found in Dubaliapara and Kashar areas of the upazila.

The deceased have been identified as Mofizur Rahman Sagar, son of Abdur Rashid of Ghagragachi village in Dinajpur, his wife Rehena Akhter Nupur, daughter of Dukhu Mia of  Madan upazila in Netrokona, and Sonali Akhter, daughter of Abul Hossain from the Sholakia area of Kishoreganj.

Bhaluka Model police station Inspector (Investigation) Md Humayun Kabir said that all three individuals worked in local factories and lived in rented accommodations.

"The hanging bodies of Sagar and Nupur were recovered from Dubaliapara around 8pm on Wednesday. Later, the hanging body of Sonali Akhter was recovered from the Kashar area," he said.

Preliminary information suggests that Sonali may have committed suicide following marital disputes.

The police recovered the bodies after being informed by locals. The bodies have been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsies to determine the cause of death.

Further investigation is underway.
