The bodies of three individuals were recovered by the Naval Police in Barishal three days after the accident, with the recovery taking place on Sunday morning near the site of the incident.
Barishal Sadar Naval Police in-charge Sanatan Chandra Sarker said that the bodies were recovered between 8:30am and 9:30am on Sunday near Jantar Hat, located at the entrance of the Laharhat canal on the Kirtankhola River.
The bodies were sent to the morgue of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The deceased were identified as speedboat operator Al Amin, 23, and passengers Imran Hossain Imon, 29, and Russel Amin, 24.
After the post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to their families.
On Thursday afternoon, a collision occurred between a speedboat travelling from Laharhat to Barishal and a bulkhead at the Jantar Hat area near the entrance of the Laharhat canal on the Kirtankhola River.
The crash claimed the life of a passenger, Jalis Mahmud, 50, and left three others missing.
The speedboat carried 11 passengers, with the remaining passengers managing to swim ashore.
Another passenger, Sajal Das (30), is still missing. Sajal, the son of Dulal Das from Rahmatpur in Barishal city, worked in BRAC's tuberculosis control program in Bhola.
