Hefazat-e-Islam has submitted a memorandum demanding the cessation of anti-Bangladesh propaganda by Indian media and politicians.
The organization's leaders and activists held a rally in Chittagong on Monday on the premises of Jamiatul Falah Mosque, after which they submitted the memorandum to the deputy commissioner.
At the gathering, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh's Joint Secretary-General, Mufti Harun Izhar, said that during the tenure of the Awami League government, Islamic scholars faced unprecedented oppression in history. He claimed: "We were tortured in remand."
Mufti Harun Izhar further said the fascist Sheikh Hasina government not only brought Bangladesh to the brink of destruction but also acted under the driving force of "Hindustani imperialism."
He alleged: "They destroyed every sector of the country. Fascist forces in India continue to engage in conspiracies, aiming to incite communal riots under the guise of organizations like the so-called terrorist group Iskcon."
Referring to attempts to destabilize the country by exploiting common Hindus with financial temptations, he added: "Ordinary Hindus have not fallen into their traps, but the terrorist organization Iskcon has. The manner in which they murdered lawyer Alif has shocked the entire nation. Iskcon must be banned immediately."
Hefazat-e-Islam's Assistant Secretary-General Habibullah Azadi said: "After the fall of autocracy, we have observed that media in neighbouring countries broadcast news at their whim. The President of West Bengal BJP, Suvendu, burned the flag of Bangladesh—a flag obtained through the sacrifice of countless martyrs. We trampled on the chief adviser's photograph. We must resist Indian imperialist forces."
