Due to the influence of Cyclone Fengal, located near Tamil Nadu, light rain started in the coastal areas of Khulna, including the city, from noon on Saturday.
The rain has continued since then.
Although the sun was visible in the morning, there was no sunlight after 11am.
The entire city of Khulna remained cloudy throughout the day.
This mild rainfall has made the already cool weather even colder. People going outside could not leave without warm clothes even in the midday.
Rickshaw driver Rahman Mia, at Shibbari intersection, said: "There was sun until noon, so it wasn’t a problem. I sat under the shop’s shelter to avoid getting wet in the rain. An hour passed while I was sitting. After the rain stopped, I went out but it started raining again. It’s light rain, but cold. I had my warm clothes from the morning, so I’m sitting with them on. But I’m not brave enough to take fares in the rickshaw."
Harunur Rashid from the coastal upazila of Koyra Sadar said: "Since morning, the sun has not been visible in Koyra. There’s been occasional mist-like rain. The sky has been cloudy throughout the day."

Meteorologist Amirul Azad, acting head of the Khulna Meteorological Department, said:"Due to the clouds brought by Cyclone Fengal, there has been intermittent light rain in the coastal areas of Khulna since noon. However, the rain has not been significant enough to measure.”
The sky in Khulna remains cloudy, and this weather is likely to continue until the afternoon of December 1. The intensity of the rain may remain the same, and the cold will increase. Due to the influence of Fengal, the sea ports have been advised to display a signal number 2, he added.
