Bullet-hit body of unidentified girl found on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

Police have recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified young woman from the service road of the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj.

The body was found lying near the Dogachi service road in Srinagar around 8:30am on Saturday, following a tip-off from locals.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered five bullet shells near the body, indicating that the woman was likely shot dead.

According to local sources, the woman was seen walking on the expressway earlier in the morning with a young man. However, no information has emerged regarding the shooter or whether anyone else was involved.

Srinagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Qayyum Uddin Chowdhury said: “We were informed early in the morning and recovered the body along with five bullet shells at the scene.”

He added: “Initial investigations suggest that the woman was brought here and shot dead. We are working closely with the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to uncover the mystery. The body will be sent to Munshiganj General Hospital for a post-mortem examination.”
