Malaysia factory fire: Three expats laid to rest in Munshiganj

The bodies of the three expats who died in a fire in Malaysia were buried after their funeral on Sunday

The bodies of three expats who died in a fire in Malaysia were buried after their funeral on Sunday in Ramzanbeg, a neighborhood of Munshiganj municipality.

A large crowd gathered at the funeral held in an open space near their homes.

Later, they were laid to rest at the Ramzanbeg Dakshinpara community graveyard.

The three expatriates, all residents of Ramzanbeg, Munshiganj, succumbed to their injuries following a chemical factory explosion in Malaysia.

The explosion occurred on Friday, October 10, in the SILC industrial area of Gelang Patah, Iskandar Puteri, Johor state, Malaysia, injuring them severely.

Their bodies arrived in Dhaka on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Jabbar Ali, 42, son of Razzak Bhuiyan, Abu Taher, 32, son of Abul Kashem, and Salam, 24, son of Mohiuddin.

The death of these three expats has cast a shadow of grief over the community.

Locals have urged the government to provide financial compensation and rehabilitation for the families of the deceased.
