Four people were killed and at least eight others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Kalihati, Tangail, in the early hours of Friday.
The identities of the deceased were not immediately available.
Nannu Khan, in charge of Elenga highway police outpost, said the collision took place at around 12:30am, leaving four bus passengers dead on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Tangail District Hospital, with three reported to be in critical condition.
He added that the bus and truck involved in the accident had been recovered, and the bodies of the deceased were being kept at the police outpost.
