Train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh railway route have resumed after 8.5 hours following the recovery of a derailed carriage of the intercity Brahmaputra Express and the repair of damaged tracks at Dhola railway station in Trishal, Mymensingh.
The train services became operational at around 6am on Wednesday.
The carriage had derailed at about 9:30pm on Tuesday near the railway station, causing train operations on the route to be halted.
Sub-Inspector Kartik Chandra Roy of Gafargaon railway police outpost said after the recovery of the derailed carriage, the train left for Dewanganj at around 2:15am. “Following the repair of the damaged tracks, train services on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route resumed at 6am.”
