Manjur Rahman Chowdhury, a leader of the Chittagong City BNP and president of the Kotwali Thana BNP, was halted while attempting to travel abroad at Chittagong's Shah Amanat International Airport.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Chowdhury was scheduled to fly to Medina, Saudi Arabia, but was removed from the flight by authorities based on intelligence information.

After questioning, he was released, but his international travel plans were halted.

The flight, originally set to depart at 5:40pm, left without him at 6:22pm.

The disruption was linked to a controversial business group, the S Alam Group. Authorities had earlier seized a vehicle belonging to the S Alam Group from the parking area of a multi-story building where Chowdhury resides.

The vehicle, registered as Chittagong Metro Gh-11-5344, was found parked at the building’s premises.

The registration indicates ownership by S Alam's Sonali Logistics, with the address listed as Asadganj S Alam Building in Chittagong.

In addition to the seized vehicle, two other cars were also found at the residence but were removed before police arrival.

Airport Director Group Captain Sheikh Abdullah Al-Amin confirmed the incident, said that the flight was delayed as a result of the detainment.
