Over 100 patients were admitted to Feni General Hospital with waterborne diseases and snakebites on Thursday.
The number may increase in the coming days as flood water has started to recede in the district, say locals.
Of the patients, 24 were admitted with snakebites, and 71 others with diarrhea. Many patients also came to the hospital with breathing difficulties.
Dr Mobarak Hossain Dulal, an official at the facility, revealed the information on Thursday.
He said there has been an outbreak of waterborne diseases due to floods. Hundreds of people are getting medical treatment at the outdoor section every day. People are suffering from various diseases including diarrhea.
However, the dialysis, pathology, X-ray and ECG services are currently unavailable at the hospital due to floods.
The ground floor of Feni General Hospital has been submerged in water since August 20. Treatment at the hospital was also suspended for a week.
