RAB-7 has recovered 35 firearms and 275 rounds of ammunition that were looted from various police stations across Chittagong city.
The weapons and ammunition were recovered on Wednesday morning, said Md Sharif Ul Alam, senior assistant director of RAB-7.
He said: "As of Tuesday, these firearms and ammunition were recovered based on information provided by the residents, intelligence surveillance, and other sources. Of the recovered weapons, 21 are operational, while the remaining 14 are damaged."
RAB has also urged vigilant citizens to provide any information that could lead to the recovery of the stolen arms and ammunition.
On August 5, miscreants vandalized, set fire to and looted multiple police stations under the jurisdiction of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police. The looted arms and ammunition pose a significant threat to the security of Chittagong city.
