Police are looking for a youth accused of attempted rape of two children aged 8 and 11 while playing loud music in Doulatdia of Rajbari.
Accused Lal Mia, hailing from Doulatdia, has been absconding since the incident took place on July 17, Goalanda police chief Pranabandhu Bishwas said on Wednesday.
Lal Mia took the children to his home, luring them to give them food, and tried to rape them after playing loud music. At one point, when the father of a child peeked into the room, Lal Mia fled the scene.
The children were taken to a paramedic but later shifted to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex as their conditions deteriorated, Resident Medical Officer Dr Md Shariful Islam said.
Two cases were filed in connection with the incident, the OC said.
