Students staged a road blockade on Wednesday morning, protesting for quota reform, on the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road in the Karaitola area of Jalkuri, Narayanganj.

The blockade caused traffic jams on both sides of the road, and the protesters chanted various anti-quota slogans.

Sajib Hasan, a student of the Bangla department at Government Haraganga College, said: "We all support the spirit of the Liberation War and the freedom fighters. However, we oppose this quota system. We are protesting nationwide in response to Tuesday's attacks on students by the Chhatra League in various educational institutions.

“As part of this, we are here today. All school, college, and university students are participating in this protest. There is no opportunity for outsiders to join this movement," he added.

Siddhirganj police station Inspector (Investigation) Mozammel Haque said: "We have received information about the incident and sent police to the scene, but we are not yet sure if the protesters are indeed students."
