Chairman of Barakhali Union Parishad (UP) Atumang Marma in Bilaichari upazila in Rangamati succumbed to the bullet injuries he received eight days ago on Thursday night.
He breathed his last around 11:50pm at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
Upazila Parishad Chairman Biruttam Tanchangya confirmed the matter.
UP chairman shot in RangamatiAtumang Marma was attacked by unidentified miscreants during the second phase of the Upazila Parishad election on May 21.
Locals rushed him to Ruma Sadar Hospital on May 22 where he received first aid for gunshot wounds to his hand and leg but later he was shifted to CMCH as his condition deteriorated.
