Three friends died after drinking local liquor at Pakuria village in Manda of Naogaon on Thursday.
The deceased are Ashik, 18, Nishat, 17, and Sharikul Islam Pintu. They are HSC first year students of Uttara College in Manda.
Mozzammel Haque Kazi, officer-in-charge of Manda police station, confirmed the matter.
The OC said a group of friends, including the victims, drank liquor at Pakuria village. Among them, the trio fell sick.
Ashik died on the spot, while Nishat and Sharikul were declared dead after they were taken to Manda Upazila Health Complex. The OC suspected that they died from consuming excessive local liquor.
An unnatural death case was filed at the police station in this regard, said the OC, adding that the bodies would be sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
