Followers of two religious centres in Chittagong —Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif of Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazilas—usually celebrate their Eid-ul-Fitr festival in line with Saudi Arabia and other Middle- Eastern Muslim countries.

Several hundred disciples of the two religious centres in 51 villages under Patiya, Chandanaish, Satkania, Anowara, Banshkhali, Sitakunda, Lohagara, Boalkhali, and Fatikchari upazilas in Chattogram and some other upazilas in Feni and Chandpur districts celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr festival with due religious fervour and festivity.

A total of 65 Eid congregations maintaining sufficient distances were held at 51 villages, including two big ones at Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Elahabad village in Chandanaish, at 7am.

Besides, eight other congregations were held in other upazilas of the district in the morning.

Chittagong district police sources said all the Eid Jamaats were held peacefully by maintaining social distance.
