A joint security force has detained two individuals in connection with robberies and arms looting, along with seizing seven local guns, 20 rounds of ammunition, KNF uniforms, laptops, and various equipment in Bandarban’s Ruma upazila.
Lieutenant Colonel KM Arafat Amin, commander of the Ruma zone, confirmed the matter on Monday.
He said: “An operation was conducted in Ruma’s Bethel Para area, where seven local guns, 20 rounds of ammunition, KNF uniforms, laptops used in criminal activities, two pairs of boots, one knife, and various equipment were seized, and two individuals were detained.”
He also said that Lal Ton Lian Bom, a junior officer (cashier) at the Ruma Sonali Bank, is one of the detainees.
Earlier in the day, four people–the driver of a jeep and three KNF members–in connection with last week’s bank robberies and arms looting in Bandarban’s Thanchi and Ruma upazilas.
