A married couple were killed after the motorcycle they were on collided with a utility pole on their way home for the Eid holidays, in the Lakshmikura market area on the Haluaghat border road in Mymensingh on Friday.
The deceased were Saidur Rahman, 28, and his wife Sonia Akhtar, 22, of Rowmari, Kurigram.
Haluaghat police station Officer-in-Charge Md Mahbubul Haque said the couple was going to their home in Kurigram on a motorcycle. Saidur died on the spot when the motorcycle collided with the pole.
Later, the locals rescued Sonia and took her to Haluaghat Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared her dead, he added.
The OC said legal action is underway in this connection.
