At least three people were killed and four others were injured in a head-on collision between two CNG-powered autorickshaws on the Moulvibazar-Sylhet regional highway at Rajanagar of Moulvibazar on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Raju Ahmed, 20, Shahel Ahmed, 22, and Fahim alias Naim Ahmed, 20.
Rajnagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salek confirmed the accident.
The accident took place when an autorickshaw bound to Tarapasha area from Dashtila hit another one bound to Dashtila, leaving Raju dead on the spot and six others injured, said the OC.
The two other injured died on the way to the hospital.
The injured are- Senai Begum, 50, and her two daughters Rima Begum, 15, and Pima Begum, 12.
“The injured have been sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (SOMCH), and Moulvibazar 250-bed District Sadar Hospital for treatment,” said OC Salek.
