Debotakhum to be reopened to tourists on January 22

Ban imposed due to joint operations by security agencies
Tourists need to follow security measures mentioned by upazila administration

The Bandarban district administration has announced it will lift its ban on tourist travel to Debotakhum on January 22.

Tourists will now be able to travel freely in Rowangchhari upazila.

A memorandum signed by District Magistrate Shah Mujahid Uddin conveyed this decision on Wednesday. The decision was made based on a letter from Bandarban Cantonment.

There was a ban on tourist travel from July 14 of last year in Rowangchhari due to joint operations conducted by security agencies against the separatist group Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF).

Tourists have been asked to get updated security information from the upazila administration before travelling to this area.
