Two Walton Plaza sales representatives were allegedly abducted while they were trying to collect outstanding instalments of electronic goods in Bandarban’s Baghmara area on Tuesday afternoon.
The abductees are Baemong Marma, 25, and Paiching Mong Marma, 25. Both of them work at the Walton Plaza Bandarban branch.
Walton Plaza Bandarban Branch Manager Md Nurul Islam Khan Sumon said: “My team went to Bagmara at 10am to collect monthly instalments. At around 7pm, I received a call from an unknown number questioning our business presence in the area.
“I clarified that they were not doing business but working jobs. The caller abruptly hung up after saying two employees were in their custody.”
Bandarban Sadar police station Inspector Shahidul Islam said legal action will be taken if a complaint is received.
