BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed at least 124 party men have been detained by police during the party's program on Saturday.
Apart from that, at least 500 BNP leaders and activists have been injured in clashes with police and ruling Awami League men.
He made the claims at a press briefing on Saturday.
The senior leader added till May 19, some 320 cases have been filed against some 1,450 BNP men.
A total of 1,514 BNP leaders and activists have been arrested till May 19 as well, BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said.
On Saturday, BNP leaders and activists gathered at various places in the capital, and subsequently, Awami League activists also took to the streets.
Hence, Saturday saw several clashes between BNP activists, the police, and Awami League leaders.
Many people, including police, were injured in these incidents.
