Police have detained a young man in Chittagong's Banshkhali upazila for posting a video on Facebook that contained derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family.
The detainee, who was apprehended on Sunday night, is Md Arif, 26, of Sekherkhil area of the upazila, confirmed Banshkhali police station Officer-in-Charge Md Kamal Uddin.
Further legal action will be taken once the investigation is concluded, he added.
It has been learned that Arif has been producing videos containing disrespectful comments and taunts about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana.
Following the video's widespread circulation on various social media platforms, including Facebook, police detained him.
