A case has been filed with Dhaka court against former Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSod) President Hasanul Haque Inu and Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon for making defamatory comments about the Zia family.
The court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the case and submit a report.
A lawyer named Ziaur Haque filed the case with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Islam's court on Thursday morning.
Later in the afternoon, the court accepted the case and directed the PBI to investigate.

According to the complaint, Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik on October 3, 2022, termed Ziaur Rahman a war criminal on a TV talk show. In a seminar on February 15 last year, he said, Ziaur Rahman was not a freedom fighter. He was an intruder in the liberation war.
On July 19, 2013, Hasanul Haque Inu and Rashed Khan Menon made adverse comments about Ziaur Rahman on different occasions.
Besides, it is mentioned in the affidavit that the accused have made defamatory comments about the Zia family at various times.
