The 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Navy Convention Centre in Chittagong on Saturday.
The event, organized by the Indian Assistant High Commission, witnessed the participation of over 600 individuals who gathered to explore the benefits of yoga.
Udot Jha, assistant high commissioner (acting) of India, Chittagong, highlighted the significance of yoga in developing inner strength and balance during his speech at the event.
He described yoga as India's precious gift to the world, which has now become a universal tradition.

“With its three pillars of asana, pranayama, and meditation, yoga has seamlessly integrated into modern society and continues to gain popularity,” added Udot Jha.
The theme of this year's International Yoga Day, 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' resonated with the larger global vision promoted by India.
As the chair of the G20, India aims to foster international cooperation and shape the global agenda.
The theme underscores India's commitment to leading by example, working collectively towards a fairer, more sustainable and prosperous society.

Dignitaries attending the event included Deputy Minister of Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Member of Parliament Khadijatul Anwar Soni, and Managing Director of BSRM Amir Ali Hossain.
Their presence emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting physical and mental well-being.
The session was skillfully conducted by Ahmed Sharif, chief coordinator of Quantum Foundation, who demonstrated various asanas and meditation techniques.
Participants had the opportunity to experience the transformative effects of yoga firsthand.
