Bangladesh Coast Guard West Zone had prepared to face the potential Cyclone Mocha.
As a preparation, warnings are already being circulated in areas adjacent to the Sundarbans including Rupsa, Koira, Mongla, Morelganj, and Sharankhola in Bagerhat, Khulna.
All Coast Guard ships, boats, stations, outposts and disaster response and rescue teams are ready to deal with any eventuality during and after Cyclone Mocha.
The medical team of the Coast Guard has already taken necessary preparations to deal with the post-disaster situation.
A special control room (01769444999) is being operated by Bangladesh Coast Guard West Zone for round-the-clock coordination to deal with emergency situations in coastal areas during and after the cyclone.
Cyclone Mocha formed over southeast Bay of Bengal has condensed into a deep depression which is moving towards the sea ports of Bangladesh.
Coast Guard Western Zone Operations Officer Lt Commander Tarek Ahmed said: "All the fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal and deep sea are being instructed to move carefully from near the coast."
All ships, stations and outposts under the Coast Guard West Zone are always ready to provide necessary assistance and information in any crisis situation during disaster and post disaster.
Officers and sailors of the Coast Guard West Zone have been deployed to raise awareness in the coastal risk areas amid the cyclone to protect the coastal residents from Cyclone Mocha approaching the coast.
People in coastal areas, Sundarbans and adjacent vulnerable areas are being taken to cyclone shelters as well as being sheltered at Coast Guard stations.
