A mobile court has fined four factories Tk6,45,000 for illegally producing and selling banned polythene in Begumganj of Noakhali.
At this time, 4,637 kg of banned polythene was seized from these factories.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Begumganj Upazila Asif Al Zeenat conducted the operation in Chowmuhani BCSIC and Chowmuhani Bazar from Monday afternoon to evening.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-11) assisted in the operation.
The assistant commissioner said that based on the information of the members of RAB-11, operations were conducted in the areas and they fined Anika Plastics Tk2 lakh, Tanya Plastic Tk2 lakh, MK Printing Tk75,000 and Ripon Packaging Tk 1,70,000 for the crime of illegally producing and selling banned polythene.
At this time, 4,637 kg of banned polythene worth Tk2,32,000 was seized.
The official said that such operations will continue in public interest.
