Two workers died while working inside a septic tank of an under-construction building in Khulna's Khalishpur area on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased are Nazir and Saddam.
Khalishpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monir Ul Giyas said: "They went down the septic tank of an under-construction building to open the central wood. After some time they lost consciousness. Later, with the help of the fire service, their bodies were rescued from there. Another worker was with them. He also fell ill. The incident's specifics will be disclosed after he regains consciousness."
Khalishpur police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Masood Rana said: "On Saturday morning, two workers came to work at Taijul Islam's house in the Khalishpur Shishu Park area. They entered the septic tank around noon. They lost consciousness due to poisonous gas there.”
On information, their bodies were rescued with the help of the fire service. The bodies has been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for post-mortem, he added.
