A fire broke out in the Moti Plaza Market in Rangpur city on Monday.
The incident took place at around 3:30pm.
The fire has reportedly spread across the entire market.
At least six units of Fire Service and Civil Defence are trying to douse the flame, Fire Service Control Room officer Shahidul Islam said.
Two more units are being sent to the spot, he added.
Mahfuzar Rahman, OC of Kotwali police station said the reason behind the fire could not be known yet.
Additional police have been deployed at the scene.
