The police have arrested 26 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir during a secret meeting in Feni.
They were arrested on Tuesday evening from Focus Coaching Centre at Didar Bhavan on Shahidullah Qaiser Road in the city.
Feni Superintendent of Police Zakir Hasan said: “They were held while holding a secret meeting to make an attempt to sabotage. That is why the raid was carried out and arrested.”
However, some of the arrestees said they organized an iftar discussion there. The police arrested them from there and took them to the police station. Although 30 people were taken away, 26 people were shown arrested.
Feni Model police station Officer in Charge Nizam Uddin said that the arrested are leaders and activists of Shibir. The OC also said that there is a case against some of them.
