Kushtia's Islamic University (IU) administration has announced a ban on the entry of outsiders into the institution.
The announcement was made on Tuesday morning, said Proctor Prof Dr Shahadat Hossain Azad.
The entry of outsiders to the campus has been entirely prohibited starting from Tuesday until further notice for the sake of the university's security, he added.
Besides, students studying at the university must carry identity cards at all times when on campus, the announcement said.
Meanwhile, a case was filed over the attack on two students of IU.
The case was filed by the university administration at Shailkupa police station on Monday.
Shailkupa police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aminul Islam said that the Registrar of the university, HM Ali Hasan, has filed a case against some 20-25 unnamed individuals.
“A suspect has been arrested. His name is Jhantu alias Jahangir Hossain. We are trying to arrest the other people involved in the attack,” the OC added.
On Monday, two students of the university were allegedly attacked by locals.
In protest of this incident, agitated students blocked the Kushtia-Jhenaidah highway from 6:30pm to 10pm.
