A student who did not appear in the Primary Scholarship Examination held in 2022 has got a talent pool scholarship in Habiganj.
Ismail Hossain is a student of Town Model Boys Government Primary School and his roll number is 1072.
According to locals, his name appeared on the talent pool scholarship recipients' list after the amended result was published on Wednesday.
However, he did not appear in the scholarship examination, confirmed Shamsunnahar, the headmistress of that school.
In another incident, Town Model Girls Government Primary School Headmistress Zinia Akhter said her daughter took the primary scholarship examination and her roll number was 72. Even though her name appeared in the result, the roll number was displayed as 73.
The student with roll number 73 is Lopa Rani Das, she said.
Such kinds of confusion regarding names and roll numbers are cropping up frequently, she added.
Meanwhile, in the results published on Tuesday, four students of Bohula Model Govt Primary School of Habiganj Sadar upazila received scholarships.
All four of them rejoiced and distributed sweets to their neighbours.
Later they came to know that the results were postponed.
None of the four got the scholarship when the results were announced again on Wednesday night.
In this regard, District Primary Education Officer Md Gulam Moula said, there should be no error after the publishing of the new list.
“We are still looking into this,” he said.
