The police have arrested two men in connection with two murders in Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila on Monday.
Jainal Abedin, 32, and Kamal Uddin, 28, were nabbed based on a tip-off in the Khurushkul area late on Monday, Superintendent of Police Md Mahafuzul Islam told the press on Tuesday.
The knife and rod used in the killings were also recovered at the time.
The two had confessed to the crime during interrogation, Md Mahafuzul Islam said.
Earlier, on Monday, Jainal and Kamal beat up and stabbed one Saidul over playing badminton on an empty field beside a school in the upazila. Saidul suffered injuries to his hand, chest and back in the attack.
Another local, Kaosar, came to Saidul's rescue, which led to him being stabbed as well.
Jainal and Kamal fled the area when locals came to the spot upon hearing the victims' screams.
Saidul and Kaosar were then rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared them both dead.
