After being closed for 3 and a half hours due to dense fog, ferry traffic has returned to normal in Daulatdia- Paturia route on Thursday.
When the fog subsided around 9 am, ferry traffic resumed.
Earlier, authorities on Thursday temporarily suspended the ferry service due to the dense fog along the Daulatdia-Paturia route, the gateway to 21 districts in the southwestern part of the country.
Around 5:30am on Thursday, ferry traffic on this route was halted to prevent any mishaps.
Hundreds of vehicles were stranded at the Daulatdia end waiting to cross the river.
BIWTC's Daulatdia terminal manager (trade) Md Salahuddin said that the dense fog is disrupting the ferry movement.
“Once the fog clears out, ferry traffic will get back up,” he added.
