Leaders and activists of the ruling Awami League on Sunday morning were gathering at the historic Polo Ground stadium of Chittagong to welcome the president of the party and the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, in a festive manner.
Ali Asif Shawon/Dhaka TribuneWith great enthusiasm they were seen marching towards Polo Ground, where the prime minister will address a rally later in the day, holding festoons and placards and shouting slogans, praising Sheikh Hasina's leadership.
Apart from the port city, leaders and activists from 15 upazilas were also coming to the grand rally using various transports like buses, trucks and microbuses.
The general public were flocking to the venue as well to get a glimpse of the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

PM Hasina last addressed an Awami League rally in the port city on March 28, 2012, at the same venue.
