The Forest Department has arrested two people for selling fox meat in Amin Bazar colony of Chittagong's Bayezid area.
The arrestees are Md Ismail, 27 and Md Aziz, 25.
They were arrested with about 2kgs of fox meat Sunday afternoon, said Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury, Chittagong divisional forest officer.
Rafiqul Islam Chowdhury said, on a tip-off, forest officials arrested two people from the Amin Bazar colony area. During this time, forest official recovered the fox's head and four legs. The duo was handed over to Bayezid police station.
Being a hilly region, jackals can still be seen in some parts of Chittagong. The officials of the forest department believed that the foxes were brought from there.
