Sylhet BNP leader’s son held over derogatory remarks on PM Hasina

He posted a video on Facebook talking about the hike in fuel prices, say police

Police on Saturday detained a local BNP leader’s son from Sylhet for making derogatory remarks on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook.

Abdul Wahid, 26, was held from the district’s Zakiganj border area, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Mosharraf Hossain of Zakiganj police station told Bangla Tribune.

“He posted a video on Facebook, making offensive remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina over the recent hike in fuel prices. We are also searching for the individual who helped him shoot the video,” the OC added.

The video went viral on social media in the last two days.

Wahid is the son of Ijjatur Rahman, vice president of BNP Ward No 4 committee.
