Chittagong district commissioner has announced to pay Tk25,000 for burial expenses to the families of the 11 victims who died in a train crash in Mirsharai upazila of Chittagong.
“The families of the victims will receive Tk25,000 to cover burial expenses and Tk15,000 for treatment of the injured,” Hathazari Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Shahidul Alam told Bangla Tribune.
Thousands of people attended the namaz-e-janaza of the 11 victims who died after a train crash in Mirsharai upazila of Chittagong on Saturday.
Police on Saturday filed a case against the gateman over the train crash.
On Friday, 11 people were killed and five others injured after a train hit a microbus at an unmanned level crossing.
Among the deceased, four were teachers, six students, and one driver.
They are Ziaul Haque Sajib, 22, Wahidul Alam Jisan, 23, Mostafa Masud Rakib, 19, Riduan Chowdhury, 22, Moshab Ahmed Hisam, 16, Md Mahim, 17, and Sagar, 17, Iqbal Hossain Maruf, 17, Ayatul Islam, 17, Mohammad Hasan, 18, and Golam Mostafa Niru, 26.
