2 Rohingyas killed in Cox’s Bazar road crash

A 10-year-old girl is among the victims

At least two Rohingyas were killed, and two others injured after a head-on collision between a covered van and a three-wheeler in Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf upazila.

The incident was reported at around 8am from the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Highway on Monday, said Huaikeng Highway police outpost In-Charge Jahangir Alam.

The deceased have been identified as Amir Hamza, 50, and 10-year-old Ismet Ara Begum from Camp 22 (Unchiprang). 

A covered van from Cox’s Bazar rammed into a three-wheeler coming from the opposite direction, leaving two Rohingyas dead on the spot.

The injured have been taken to local hospitals for treatment, and the bodies are kept at Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital, Jahangir added.
