A Bangladesh Air Force officer has been killed when his covered van crashed into a truck in Faridpur.
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Dhuldi area, at around 3:30am on Monday, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kankon Kumar Biswas of Karimpur highway police outpost.
The deceased was identified as Sergeant Abdul Bashar, 36. He was currently working at Jessore Airport.

“The covered van Abdul Bashar was on, may have hit a truck from behind, which left him dead on the spot. The front part of the van was damaged, and the driver and his assistant fled the scene after the incident,” the OC said.
The body was recovered and sent to the highway police station.
The covered van was seized from the spot.
