A Joypurhat Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was killed, and his accomplice was injured in a head-on collision between a motorbike and autorickshaw on Saturday.
The accident took on the Joypurhat-Bogra road at around 4:30pm.
Alamgir Jahan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Joypurhat Sadar police station confirmed the matter.
The deceased has been identified as Atikur Rahman, president of Bambu union Chhatra League.
Atikur and Aminul, on the bike, were heading towards Joydebpur when a Bogra-bound autorickshaw from the opposite direction hit them. Atikur died on the spot, the OC added.
Aminul is currently being treated at Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Meanwhile, Atikur’s body was handed over to his family.
