A couple was killed in a road crash in Nilphamari Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Swapan Roy, 30, and his wife Sumi Roy, 25, both workers of Sonic Company at Uttara Export Processing Zone (EPZ).
Witnesses say they were going to Uttara EPZ on a motorcycle of another person to join work.
Satish Chandra, who was driving the motorcycle lost control while overtaking a truck. Swapan and Sumi were crushed under the truck’s wheels.
Fortunately, Satish survived.
Nilphamari Police OC Mahmud-Un-Nabi said that the bodies were sent to the Nilphamari Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The truck was seized, he said.
