Two people were killed as a truck collided with a pickup van in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail on Friday morning.
The deceased are pickup van driver Sohail Mia, 32, and his helper Sujan Mia, 26.
The Dhaka-bound truck collided head on with the pickup van in the Koyapara area, leaving Sohail and Sujan with critical injuries, said Dhanbari Fire Service Station Officer Tarikul Islam.
The two were rescued and sent to the upazila health complex, where they died while undergoing treatment, he added.
Dhanbari police station OC Idris Ali said the bodies will be handed over to the families soon, adding that police have yet to track down the driver of the truck and his assistant.
