A female student has been suspended in connection with the Ashulia teacher Utpal Kumar Sarkar murder case, one day after prime accused Jitu got expelled.
Saiful Islam, principal of Haji Yunus Ali School and College in Ashulia, confirmed the matter on Saturday.
“Ashraful Islam Jitu attacked Utpal Kumar in order to impress the female student. She is allegedy involved with the prime accused. As the investigation of the case is underway, the authority has decided to suspend her from the school,” said the principle.
He added that the female student will be permanently expelled if her evidence of involvement has been found, he added.

Utpal Kumar, who was injured after Jitu thrashed him with a cricket stump, died while undergoing treatment at Savar Enam Medical College and Hospital at around 5:15am on June 27.
He was a lecturer in the Political Science Department and chairman of the disciplinary committee at Haji Yunus Ali School and College in Ashulia.
His brother later filed a case with Ashulia police station.
The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday arrested Jitu from Nagarhaola village in Sreepur of Gazipur.
Jitu was later placed on a five-day remand by a Dhaka court.
