Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard yesterday seized over two kilograms of crystal meth or “Ice”, worth around Tk12.5 crore from Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.
The contraband drug was seized during an operation in Marine Drive’s Dargarchora area, said Lt Commander Abdur Rahman, media officer of Teknaf coastguard.
During the raid, some of the members saw a man walking suspiciously towards the forest with a bag. When they signaled the man to stop, he threw his bag and fled into the scene.
After searching the bag, the coastguard members found 2.5kg crystal meth in it, said the official.
The seized drugs were later handed over to Teknaf model police station for further legal action.
