An army operation in Khagrachhari’s Jarulchhari retrieved a cache of arms and ammunition, say officials.
The two-hour-long operation was conducted by the Bangladesh Army around 3pm.
They raided the area on a tip-off that 10-12 armed militants of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF-Prosit) were in Jarulchhari area.

During the operation, a prolonged exchange of fire between the army and the UPDF members occurred.
After the UPDF men fled the scene, the army personnel recovered two AK-47 rifles, 13 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, two mobile phones, and other equipment from the spot.
