However, on Thursday she was appointed as a class III upper division assistant at the university library on a master-role basis (a no work, no pay system) for a daily wage of Tk525. The appointment was for 90 days. Salma interviewed for the administrative officer position in February. Her new appointment letter does not specify a salary, but says she will be paid according to the university ordinance and laws. Umme Salma told the Dhaka Tribune: “I thank the university for appointing me to an administrative position matching my qualifications. I think through this decision the university has honoured a martyr and his family.” JU administration sources alleged that the vice-chancellor appointed several Chhatra League leaders to the same officer post in 2015. On Thursday, one of those officers were made permanent.
