Two people were killed and another 10 injured in a head on collision between a passenger microbus and an Ena Paribahan bus on Saturday.
The accident took place in the Islamnagar area of Chakaria upazila on the Cox's Bazar-Chittagong highway, reports Bangla Tribune.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chakriya Chiringa Highway Police Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter.
The collision occurred between a Chittagong-bound passenger Hayes Micro and a Cox's Bazar-bound ENA Paribahan bus around 8:30 am.The microbus was crushed and mangled in the accident. The deceased have been identified as Mujibur Rahman, 30, of Chairakhali village under Fasiakhali union of Chakaria upazila and Enamul Haque, 25, of Dulahazara union.
Of the 10 injured, Sunil, 52, Abdul Hakim, 32, Zafar, 65, Tafsir, 30, Shuvo, 50, Abdur Rashid, 22 and Osman, 23 were seriously injured. Eight of the injured, except for Abdur Rashid and Osman, were rushed to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital from Chakaria Hospital as their condition is said to be critical, according to Chakaria Hospital sources.
Another Ena Paribahan bus, in Sylhet, was in a collision with a London Express bus on Friday, leaving eight dead and eighteen others injured.
