The local administration has suspended the operation of one private clinic, three private hospitals and three diagnostics centres over irregularities.
Civil Surgeon Pradeep Kumar Saha said the local administration visited several hospitals and clinics on Friday and suspended the operation of the clinic, hospitals and diagnostic centres as the authorities concerned failed to show valid documents.
The hospitals included New Ekota Clinic, Ma Private Hospital, Kings Private Hospital, Grameen Diagnostic Centre, The Labscan Diagnostic centre and Desh Private Hospital.
"Besides, the hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres did not have any waste management systems and were operating with inadequate manpower," Dr Pradeep Kumar Saha added.

The government on Wednesday launched an inspection into all private hospitals and diagnostic centres across the country after collecting their lists from divisional directors.
“All authorized and unauthorized private hospitals and diagnostic centres will be inspected by government authorities,” said Prof Dr Abul Bashar Md Khurshid Alam, director general (Health), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.
The government’s move came after the death of a police officer in a psychiatric hospital in the capital.
