34 pirates surrender with firearms in Chittagong

A total of 34 pirates from 11 gangs at Banshkhali in Chittagong surrendered to the Home Minister along with firearms on Thursday noon.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan attended the program as the chief guest held at Banshkhali Adarsha  High School playground.

Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Home Ministry Shamsul Haque Tuku, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed, local MP Mostafizur Rahman, Director General of RAB Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, IGP of Police Benzir Ahmed and Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Ilias Hossain were also present.

RAB-7 captain Lt. Col Mashiur Rahman Jewel presided over the program.

Legal and Media Wing Commander of RAB Lt. Col. Ashik Billah said every pirate has got Tk one lakh after surrender.
